An iota

I decided to play with A+ with the data that I'm working. I thought to myself: Sure how hard can it be. I just need to parse the CSV files, get them in the right order in the matrix and perform some simple calculations.

Reading the CSV in A+ was straight forward:

$x< "cat" "file"

Marvelous... now I need to parse it.

drop bag 1, (x=",")/x

Well... I got a bunch of numbers, not related with my data. WTF's started blaring all over my brain. I mean, I used to do these in no time when I was learning APL development. Well, it seems that my old age is catching up on me :( because I do not remember now.

I have to go back and relearn the way of bagging, picking, ioting and rhoing.

The luck of the Irish

As a celebration of the Patron Saint of Ireland, we made a Breakfast Bap for breakfast. (doh). Sadly, we forgot to add the black pudding to the bap, but overall, it was fairly close. At least it has not decide to pack up and leave my tummy.

For dinner, my wife is preparing a traditional Irish dish, Bangers and Mash. I do not know why in the United States still sticks on serving Cabbage with Corned Beef as the traditional meal for this day. I like corned beef, but I am not too crazy about cabbage. It is too bitter for my taste. So, Bangers and Mash it is.

My wife also proposed to cook some steak and liver pies (in lieu of kidneys).

Not today though, we're sticking with the bangers.

Clammy days are here to stay

It is another day of late winter in New Jersey. It happens to be yet another clammy day. On days like this, I do not want to get out of bed. Really... I still needed to place the recyclables out on the curb for collection.
