Guitars and Misbehaving Calendars

After a long hiatus I went back on playing Classical Guitar. Obviously, I am not doing that good because of lack of practice. My fault. I started with Leona Boyd's Miniatures playing the Spanish Romance... everything was going ok until the last piece that it has a very long tremolo.
I hate tremolos, probably one of the reasons I will never play

Thunderbird I hate thee...
It seems that the latest update of Thunderbird managed to break Lightning again. Now I have to wait forever until a new version of Lightning is out of the door.
To put salt over injury, the calendar in ownCloud at home is going slow as molasses. The reason? backups... a necessary evil, but trying to go over DAV has been a chore.
Last, but not least, I am also trying to get org-caldav to work without much success. It is not playing well with the older version of DAV that is in used. Well, it seems that it is time for me to get my hands dirty.
