Fighting with libgeos

I'm trying to compile libgeos with GCC 4.2 and still barfing at me with a linker error. Looking around with my favorite search engine points me to change the compiler.

Changing the compiler is not an option.

I'm trying with Cmake to see if that makes a difference.
