... and the cat had the last laugh

This morning my wife went down to the cattery to check on the cats that are being socialized. The cats are doing fine, thanks, but it seems that the leash and harness that we managed to put on the cat is now gone.

The cat might be laughing to us, poor deluded humans, on its escapist prowess

Did this get on that puppet show (or am I on the wrong island here)?
pi: groups two or more words together as in unit as a modifier. contrast ((sijelo jan) lili), all left grouping so "small human body" with (sijelo pi (jan lili)) "child's body". numbers and nanpa followed by numbers are an exception, right-grouping but unmarked. I think this is true even of the following taso, but in your case I see that there is some room for uncertainty. Is he complaining that she go only one ball when two at least would have been better or that she go only a ball when whe should have had a glove? Not that it would really make a difference in this case. Oh, you could say kama jo e sike taso for the second.
"Everybody" is easily jan ali, the context usually takes care of the fact that people in Samoa don't find out.
tan is standard for reasons and causes, answers to why? (which is tan seme? after all).
"with" is multitasking in English, kepeken is about the tools or other aids you use for a task mi pali e ona kepeken jan Sali suggests you used Charlie as a screwdriver or a piece of lumber, poka jan Sali suggests he worked beside you. for talking with, toki tawa seems natural, though it doesn't stress the mutuality that might be central (it doesn't deny it either), so poka also works.
jan pi sitelen toki li pana e toki ni: jan mama meli li toki e seme. "The tv guy reported the story what the mother said.(that indirect question is weird, but no one has a better idea except just tan nimi pi jan mama meli.)
tenpo mi la mi kama jo e sike taso. At my turn, I got just a ball.
jan ali li kama sona. nimi pi jan mama meli li pona ala tawa ali. or some such.
open kin pi tenpo suno la mi kama li lape lili taso. I came at the break of day and slept little.
